SunDragons ATC Learn by Doing Clinic

A day full of learning and fun as athletes and coaches gain hands-on instruction from USATF Certified Coaches as well as USTFCCCA,  at our Learn By Doing Clinic. This clinic is designed to introduce athlete/coaches to Track and Field Events with beginner to intermediate athlete in mind. Participants will learn specific techniques, drill progressions and coaching cues with error correction.  This is a great opportunity for young athletes / coaches to learn more about the events of track and field.  This camp will cover all Track and Field events offered at UASTF Junior Olympics level except the Pole Vault

Scott Fister- SunDragons ATC Head Performance Coach, Collegiate coach at 3 Universities, USATF Level II certified in Throws, Jumps, sprints/Hurdles/Relays, Multi-events. Coach of  World Masters Champions; Liz Teague(Womens40-44) and James Dennis(Mens40-44), Isaiah McIntyre the 2014 New Mexico 5A state High Points Award Winner. 

Jeff Gallero- Sierra Foothills Track club & Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Head Coach, USTFCCCA Master Sprint and Combine event Coach, USATF Level II certified Throws, Jumps, sprints/Hurdles/Relays, Multi-events, Distance, Former Asst coach University of Nevada- Reno. Coach of Ron Greeno (Mens70-74) national master  champions and record holder in the high jump

Eddie & Lisa Pardon- SunDragons’ Asst coach: Youth Development coaches

Lucinda Hemingway- SunDragons’ Asst coach: distance. USATF Level 1 Certified. Local Master Distance Runner

Adreana Almanza- SunDragons’ Asst: Sprint/Hurdles/Jumps/relay

8:30 General Warm up  

8:45- Relays & racewalking

9:45- shot put

10:45- Running Form / Block starts

11:35-Noon – Lunch Break on own

Noon- Long Jump

1pm- Discus

2pm- Hurdles

3pm- High Jump

4pm-Demonstrations of Javelin/ Triple Jump
